God bless these kids who worked so hard to recreate this Masterpiece. Kudos to their talent. I watch this video almost everyday and reminisce about old times.

I know no one will ever see this thought, but I'll leave it anyway: from the very first frame of the film, as the music immediately tells you, this is an elegy and a memorial to a time, a place, and a people long gone. There is a deep beauty and sadness throughout the movie. And so I cry, not just from the story, the characters, the music and the mountains, but for the loss. The terrible, terrible loss.

Movie was filmed in Appalachia NC. Happy to say one of these scenes Daniel Day Lewis, one of the waterfalls he ran up, I got to go to. Kind of recreated it. Fun fact: Hunger Games was filmed un same area

Gets me every time I watch it

A bit slow

This is a great peice of music. My school band did this in 7th grade and I"ll always remember playing and how powerful it sounded. I went from saxophone in school to drums and guitar in a garage. Now, I teach music. Self taught exxcrpt on sax. I"d like to get a tenor sax and start playing again. I know I could pick it right back up.
